5 Tested and Proven Ways to Build Your Subscriber List

A list of engaged subscribers is one of the least expensive but most effective marketing tools for your business. This permission-based model of marketing allows you to fill your audience with people who are genuinely interested in your brand and what you have to say.
A good list is so valuable that it can’t be bought. Why? Because when subscribers sign up for your list, they’re signing up to hear from you and your company. You have prospects who are interested in what you have to say and sell… and they’ve pre-qualified themselves for you by signing up! It doesn’t get much better than that.
Most subscribers won’t opt-in to your list easily. They have to have a compelling reason to do so. They have to be earned.
So what are the best ways to earn those opt-ins from subscribers? I’ve collected the top 5 to share with you today. But stay tuned! I’ll be sharing more tips in the coming weeks. If you want to get my tips sent right to your inbox, simply fill in the VIP access box to the right.
OFFER QUALITY CONTENT
Few visitors to your website will give up their email address for free. If you want to build a valuable relationship and engage your audience, you need to provide content that is worthwhile and interesting.
For example, on my website, I provide free video trainings filled with valuable content to help business owners increase their sales and grow their businesses. To learn more, check out my Webinars page.
PUT SIGN-UP FORMS THROUGHOUT YOUR WEBSITE
Your sign-up form should be everywhere your potential subscribers are. Make sure they’re visible and easy to fill out. Have forms for different purposes.
For example, a review of REVSquared.ca illustrates how I use different forms for call backs, contacting me, webinars, free downloads and subscriber opt-ins. This helps to appeal to visitors with different needs and goals.
USE SOCIAL MEDIA TO COLLECT EMAIL ADDRESSES
Integrate your sign-up forms with social media platforms. Driving traffic from multiple sources allows you to build a strong email marketing list much faster.
DESIGN YOUR SIGN-UP FORM CAREFULLY
Ask only for information you plan to use. A good rule of thumb is that less is more — the shorter the sign-up form, the higher the conversion rate. Only request a phone number if absolutely necessary. Requesting a phone number dramatically reduces the number of opt-ins.
INCLUDE TESTIMONIALS ON YOUR LANDING PAGE
Social proof helps build instant trust and credibility with visitors to your website. Use testimonials from satisfied customers to help visitors make a decision whether to opt-in or not.
